Westbank

The Westbank of New Orleans, aptly named due to its positioning on the west side of the Mississippi River, encompasses Plaquemine Parish, Jefferson Parish, and Orleans Parish. The Westbank is a large, residential area that is family oriented and has plenty of places to eat and shop. The Westbank is also the home of the Zurich Classic PGA Golf Tournament. Founded in the 1830s, the Westbank is composed of a myriad of neighborhoods and cities such as Algiers, Terrytown, Gretna, Harvey, Marrero, Westwego, Bellchase, Avondale, and Lafitte.
