Westbank

The Westbank of New Orleans, aptly named due to its positioning on the west side of the Mississippi River, encompasses Plaquemine Parish, Jefferson Parish, and Orleans Parish. The Westbank is a large, residential area that is family oriented and has plenty of places to eat and shop. The Westbank offers activities such as the Jean Lafitte National Historic Park and Preserve, the Barataria Preserve, the TPC Louisiana golf course, and NOLA Motor Sports. The Westbank is also the home of the Zurich Classic PGA Golf Tournament. Founded in the 1830s, the Westbank is composed of a myriad of neighborhoods and cities such as Algiers, Terrytown, Gretna, Harvey, Marrero, Westwego, Bellchase, Avondale, and Lafitte. The Westbank offers the opportunity to enjoy the food, culture, and customs of New Orleans without the constant hustle and bustle that takes place within the city. As the locals says, the Westbank is the best bank!
